I was super excited to hear about Dr. Oz’s latest breakfast shake recipe made of raspberries, spinach and flaxseed oil.  Not only is it a new color, red-ish pink instead of the usual green drink, it has raspberries in it, which I love.  I think it would also be interesting to try this with strawberries or blueberries (fresh or frozen) in place of the frozen raspberries.  Just called my husband to pick up some raspberries on his way home, so this will be my protein packed and fiber rich breakfast tomorrow!

Dr. Oz’s Recipe for Spinach Raspberry & Flaxseed Oil Shake:

Ingredients:
– 1 banana
– 1 cup frozen raspberries
– 1 cup orange juice
– 1 cup strawberry yogurt, fat free
– 8 baby carrots
– handful of spinach leaves
– 2 tsp Flaxseed Oil
– 2 scoops Creamy Vanilla Protein Shake Mix
– 1/4 cup oatmeal, dry

Pop all of the ingredients in your blender and blend well.  A little tip I use is to freeze bananas when they are ripe, especially if I have a bunch that I don’t think I will be able to use before they go bad… so I also have a supply of bananas on hand!
