Dr Oz and Liz Josefsberg, a Weight Watchers Leader, figured out how to take a Dallas, Texas BBQ Ribs recipe and to make it healthy. So now you can lose weight while eating delicious meals as part of your diet! Instead of eating a BBQ Sauce that is full of sugar, now you can make your own with Agave Nectar!
Dr Oz: BBQ Rib Sauce Recipe
Ingredients:
1tbsp olive oil
1 cup chopped onions
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
3 cups tomato sauce
2/3 cup agave syrup
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1tbsp soy sauce
Freshly ground pepper
Salt to taste
4 chicken breasts, skinless and boneless
2 pounds beef flanken ribs

Directions:
1. Cook the garlic and onions in a large pan over low heat for 7-10 minutes.
2. Add the agave syrup, vinegar, tomato sauce, soy sauce, pepper and Worcestershire sauce.
3. Bring the BBQ sauce to a boil, reduce the heat and let it simmer (with a cover on the top) for 15 minutes.
4. Put 2 cups of sauce on the side. With the rest of the sauce, cover your chicken and ribs and let it marinate in the fridge for a minimum of 2 hours.
5. Preheat your oven to 325 degrees.
6. Place the ribs and chicken on a baking dish and cover them with 1 cup of the bbq sauce that you put on the side.
7. Bake the meat for 45 minutes without a cover on the top, but baste the meat from time to time.
8. Remove the chicken once it is cooked through (about 45 minutes) and continue cooking and basting the ribs for an extra 30 minutes or so.
9. Serve with the extra cup of BBQ Sauce.
